Illinois Spotlight Charities for 2027

Special Bikes for Special Kids.  This special project for 2027 will raise funds to support SB4SK, a 501(c)3 organization.  The bikes are individually built to meet the specific needs of a child with disabilities at no cost to that child's family.  The cost of these bikes can run from $2,000 to more than $8,000, depending on the needs of the child.  We hope you will join us and make a difference in the lives of these special kids!

Stuffed Animals for Children.  This is a 2027 Community Service project of WGP Don Black.  Members are asked to collect NEW stuffed animals and bring them to the upcoming Receptions, Holiday Parties, and Area Schools of Instruction.  They will be shared with local organizations who will provide them to children in hospitals, children in need, and those whose lives have been touched by tragedy.  The stuffed animals should be small to medium in size and must be in NEW condition.  This will be an ongoing project, but there is a special need for these items prior to the Christmas season.  If you have questions or need assistance coordinating donations, please contact Sister Judy Black.

An Honor Flight is conducted by non-profit organizations dedicated to transporting as many United States military veterans as possible to see the memorials of the respective war they fought in Washington, DC, at no cost to the veterans.  The Grand Chapter of Illinois is proud of its many members who have served our nation in the military, and the Honor Flight program has always enjoyed strong support from our members.  In 2025, members of the Order generously donated more than $14,000 to support Honor Fligh trips.
